GOGAN

The philosophy of this house project is conveyed by the phrase "My home is my fortress". The clients had a request to create a living space in which they would feel protected, calm and confident. A commitment to privacy, minimalist forms and the opportunity to enjoy the view of a "garden of stones" became their inspiration. Why is the project called Gogan? The Japanese have a concept in English called 'Gogan', which refers to a river dam made of skilfully laid stones, built to protect and grace the banks of rivers and lakes.This idea inspired me to design this project for the house.These days, more than ever, there is an unyielding desire to protect one's home and keep one's family safe. At the same time, like those very stones exposed to water and wind, our lives also change over time.

The minimalist interior, which features rounded shapes reminiscent of river stones, is framed by a light and airy colour palette, while the natural textures of wood and stone give a sense of natural harmony.

The variety of shades of blue in interior decor is a symbol of pure water, which gives life to all living things.

The ornamentation on the fabric of the chair upholstery and the rug abstractly resembles the movement of waves in a river - both in the calm tranquil and in the turbulent mountain water.
